Does gamification of the web make sense?

With a revenue of 400 mil. USD in 2014, the American market seems to think so. Forecasts show a steep increase of growth. In fact, it looks as though gamification is the web’s new universal remedy. But the road from favored idea to effective reality isn’t always straight forward.
How can you tell which solutions work and which are unsuccessful? When do great app concepts, which users are supposed to love, most often fail? He has been collecting my own experiences from the Czech market over the last few years to share with you. They might not always be the happiest stories, but they could spare you a lot of disappointment (and maybe even make you a profit).
