We built it, and they didn't come

What is the talk about?
Lukas: Most entrepreneurs, including myself, are really good at making up grand visions and then spending too long building them out, only to realize they built the wrong thing.
I'll tell the story of my previous failed company, Efficient Cloud, where we successfully wasted investment money & precious time, only to have 0 (zero!) customers use our product.
I'll also tell the story of my current company (which is bootstrapped & profitable!) and its product USERcycle, where we started charging customers from day 1, and have iterated quickly based on customer learnings. -
Who is it for?
Lukas: You should be working on a product right now to enjoy this talk and apply the learnings yourself - but you'll probably enjoy it either way.
-
What will the audience get from it?
Lukas: Practical learnings from my own (in-)experience, and how to use specific tools and skills to get to profitability faster.
-
What do you presently work at?
Lukas: I currently work on USERcycle, an analytics tool for SaaS businesses, and on our parent company Spark59 together with Ash Maurya (Author of Running Lean).
-
Which of your existing achievements do you value the most?
Lukas: Not getting too comfortable and instead keep trying new things. I'm also quite happy about having participated in the Seedcamp accelerator program with two of my previous companies.
-
What would you like to achieve?
Lukas: Working closely with more SaaS entrepreneurs to improve their products and their conversion rates.
-
What do you look forward to at the WebExpo?
Lukas: Good conversations, and of course czech beer!
