Practising the Decision-Making Diet in a JavaScript Developer’s Life
Lucerna Cinema
President Obama and Mark Zuckerberg wear the same outfit every day. Why? You can’t make decision after decision without paying a biological price. Simply put, they save their decision-making energy for more important decisions.
I have spent the last year on the decision-making diet. In the books, articles, and podcasts I discovered concepts and techniques, I had no idea they existed beforehand. Quite soon, I realised that as a software developer, I need to apply these to the coding, too. Sometimes as low as on the level of JavaScript language features. In my talk, I will share what I learnt. I will show how to take advantage of precommitment, work on the environment design, and monitor the overall progress. And, most importantly, how I was able to start focusing on the things that matter.
