Webmatrix allows you to be very productive at building web sites, build the new ones from nothing, or based on existing open source frameworks.
In this session, Laurence Moroney, Microsoft will introduce the tool, and show you how to build a simple eCommerce site that you can use to sell your stuff on the web and realize the results e.g. through PayPal.
You'll see how the new helper functionality works, and how you can build your own helpers to make development very easy.

Laurence Moroney is the senior Product Manager for the Microsoft Web Platform. His passion and duty is in building products that make life easier for Web developers. He has authored more books than he can count, including the bestselling Introducing Silverlight series, as well as topics such as Java, Web Development, Interoperability and Web Services security, as well as over a hundred articles in print media on topics ranging from PHP development to J2EE and beyond.
Laurence has worked with many types of development ranging from Financial Services to security for Jails and Casinos, as well as a journalist for Major League Soccer and the USA national soccer team. When not working on Web development, Laurence is also a writer, having published two science fiction novels, and is the lead staff writer for an upcoming Sci-Fi TV show.
