  • What is it about?

Denisa: Although "Soft skills" are of the same importance to UX designers as experience, tools and methodologies, they often remain unnoticed. Then we might be quite surprised why is your opinion not respected, why do we often end up blindly following even the silliest requests of clients and the real end-user needs remain forgotten. The talk will be about tips on how to get support in your company and get your voice heard by stakeholders. Then you can prepare solid starting point for a great project which results in good quality product fulfilling the user needs, satisfied stakeholders and - last but not least - happy UX designer.

  • What will the visitors get from it?

Denisa: Tips how to gain respect as a UX designer in a company, introduce UX design as a necessary part of the pre-implementation phase and how to sell your skills and advocate the needs of the end users, all while satisfying the stakeholders.

  • For whom it is?

Denisa: UX/UI designers, coders, business analysts, everyone who is a part of the project before its implementation phase and wants the end product to successfully cover the needs of all the interested sites (stakeholders, end users and optionally the agency)

  • What do I presently work at?

Denisa: I am currently working as UX Designer for Actum|G2 digital agency. I am collecting business requirements from stakeholders and feature requirements from the end users, analyzing them and then designing a win-win solution for both sides. At the end there is an application that provides them with what they really need, while it might not be what they initially asked for.

  • Which of my existing achievements do I value the most?

Denisa: The amount of people I managed to convince about the benefits of user-centered design as opposed to blindly following business goals while applying methods that currently seem to provide the quickest solution. Also the ability to inspire people to see things in the bigger picture.

  • What would I like to achieve?

Denisa: I would like to have the opportunity to carry on doing what I love and to gain experience in both Czech Republic and abroad.

  • What do I look forward to at the WebExpo?

Denisa: For me the Web is about people on the first place, which is why the things I am looking forward to the most on WebExpo are also people and networking. Inspiration and new experiences are a big plus.
