Jesse James: Whether you design websites or shopping malls, hospitals or mobile phones, you're designing for people, and people want to be engaged by the products and services in their lives. But human engagement comes in many different forms, and traditional design practices don't say much about creating engagement.

Which of your existing achievements do you value the most?
Jesse James: I am amazed and humbled by the ongoing success of The Elements of User Experience. I never imagined that it would still be around more than 10 years later.
