The last decade has seen a variety of attacks against technology companies worldwide, from insider threats and digital compromises to legal action and intimidation of staff. Politicians, executives, and security professionals rightfully call it an attack on democracy, but rarely speak publicly about what we can learn from these incidents. This talk will discuss how we can design technology that enables free speech, including risks and mitigations that we should consider.
