Jiri has worked in industry and academia, hitchhiked through Europe, spent nearly 10 years in the U.S., got a Ph.D., has taught linguistic and computer science in Europe and the U.S. He finds the intersection between exacting nature of computers and the fuzziness of language fascinating. Thomas was playing with computers since childhood. He put together the first Web in the mid-90s, but he started to make living with programming with the advent of Web 2.0, when he switched from PHP to Ruby on Rails. Since then, he's fascinated by cutting-edge frameworks, which he usually learns quicky just to abandon them one moment later in favor of even newer and better. Thomas works as a freelance developer and consultant. His favorite stack is Node.js and React, which he considers to be the platform of the future. Nik has been designing websites and interfaces in San Francisco and Prague since the early 90s. As a result, he’s witnessed how the role of design has gradually changed. Designers are no longer simply tasked with making interfaces for ordinary people. The main goal nowadays is not only to create a beautiful and engaging interface, but more importantly, an interface that supports business objectives. Jiří started programming more than 20 years ago. In 1998, he started with PHP and a little while later, he added JavaScript and MySQL to his roster, which has kept him busy for the better part of 15 years. In the last 2 years, he’s started using programming languages to build applications, which facilitate parallelism.
