Is WebExpo taking place in-person or virtually this year?
WebExpo 2023 will be in-person only this year, so we can enjoy the experience together and meet people and speakers face-to-face. For us, there’s nothing quite like the spontaneous connections you make IRL at roundtable discussions, mentor hours, and (of course) the parties. That being said, we will still have videos of all WebExpo talks available after the conference, so you’ll be able to view and catch up on any sessions you didn’t manage to attend.
I'm not from Prague, where should I stay?
It’s easy to find accommodation for every budget in Prague — from hostels for a few crowns to luxury hotels. We recommend using Airbnb.com or Booking.com.
How do I get the latest news about WebExpo?
You can use our Eventee conference app for WebExpo to get news and updates directly on your phone.
You can also follow us on social media for our latest news and announcements:
Don’t forget to add the hashtag #webexpo to your posts!
Registration - when and where?
If you’re joining us early, you can register on Tuesday at the Warm-Up party in Apify Technologies, Lucerna Palace, Štěpánská 61, Prague 1 from 8 PM.
The main registration will start on Wednesday, April 19th from 7:00 AM in the Lucerna Passage.
You’ll receive an email a few days before the conference with a QR code to pick up your pass, which you should bring with you. Don’t worry if you don’t have it on your mobile phone — we can also look you up in our system. You’ll just need to show us some photo ID.
There will be six registration points, and you can choose to register at any of them with one of our 12 WebExpo staff. In addition to your conference badge, they’ll also be handing out bagels from Ovocný Světozor, or you can head to Info Point 2 next to Lucerna Café for a gluten-free or vegan option. We also recommend picking up your reusable water/coffee cup at the same time, so you can enjoy your breakfast with a beverage! Important FYI: We collect a 50 CZK deposit that will be fully refunded when you return the cup(s).
Arriving later in the day? Please register at Info Point 1 in the Lucerna Great Hall or Info Point 2 next to the entrance to the Lucerna Café.
What time does WebExpo start?
We’ll be kicking off WebExpo at 8:40 AM with a welcome from WebExpo Director Šárka Štrossová and Livesport representative, an opening keynote from Filip Hráček about Futuristic UI, and of course, a surprise you won’t want to miss. And when we say 8:45 AM, we mean it. Not a minute later.
Registration on Wednesday, April 19th starts at 7:00 AM. Please come early so we can get everyone checked in and ready before the conference opens at 8:40 AM in the Lucerna Great Hall. Don’t worry, you won’t be alone — most of our attendees like to come early, grab breakfast, and relax in the networking areas.
Where do talks take place?
All lecture halls are located in the Lucerna Palace at Štěpánská 61, 116 02 Prague 1 (view map).
Lecture halls: Talks will take place in the Lucerna Great Hall, Lucerna Cinema, and Marble Hall. Roundtable discussions will be running in the Café Breakout Room, mentor hours in the Lucerna Passage, and workshops for kids including the kids’ corner and Parents’ Coffee Lounge will take place in the Apify offices (the entrance from Lucerna Café or Lucerna Passage close to Vodičkova Street).
WebExpo Tip: Where’s the best place to meet up with friends? Make sure you check out our networking areas in the Lucerna Gallery and Lucerna Café.
What talks should I attend?
All of our talks are great, but here are some recommendations on who you might want to see based on your area of expertise:
Will there be any workshops at WebExpo?
Of course! On Wednesday, free workshops will take place in the Café Breakout Room. The registration is on first come, first served basis.
And on Friday, we’ve organised premium workshops to deepen your professional knowledge and learn new skills from top speakers from around the world. You can look forward to hands-on workshops from Vitaly Friedman, Harry Roberts, Nathan Curtis, and Caroline Jarrett.
Is WebExpo kid-friendly?
Yes, WebExpo welcomes attendees of all ages! This year, there will be activities for kids (and adults if you want to join) taking place throughout the day near the lecture halls in the Apify office (the entrance is through Lucerna Café). At the same spot, there will also be a Parents’ Coffee Lounge for parents with babies and toddlers who want to rest and talk over a cup of coffee. If your children are two years or older, they can hang out in our play space with our very own on-site au pair while you attend talks.
For older children, there will be free programming courses organised by Apify. They’ll learn about 3D printing, enjoy LEGO BOOST, and have fun with Ozobots! Check the program for more details.
WebExpo Tip: Every WebExpo ticket comes with a second free adult entrance to the kids’ and networking areas, so you can bring the whole family! You can pick up your Parent/Family member badge at any Info Points. For more information, send an email to info@webexpo.net.
What about coffee and food?
You can always count on WebExpo to keep you well-fed and hydrated!
At Wednesday’s registration, you’ll get a tasty bagel from Ovocný Světozor when you pick up your badge. On Thursday, we’ll be handing out breakfast in the Lucerna Passage. You can choose from yoghurt with fruit, panna cotta with raspberry, or mango chia pudding from Libeřské lahůdky. And don’t worry, you won’t go hungry if you’re gluten-free or vegan! We will have special gluten-free and vegan breakfast packages available at Info Point 2. Please be mindful there are only a limited amount of packages available, so please only choose this option if you really need it.
Water and hot drinks from Doubleshot and LMC Tea Room will be available all day. To be as ecological as possible, we offer reusable water and coffee cups. Each cup comes with a 50 CZK cash deposit (i.e. 100 CZK for both hot and cold cups), which is fully refunded to you upon cup return. And of course, don’t forget to stop by the Polífkárna and Bangkok on wheels food stands located in the Lucerna Passage.
WebExpo Tip: Want to go out to eat near Lucerna? Check out the WebExpo Foursquare map for recommendations.
I’m kind of shy, how can I get involved in networking?
Don’t worry! Come hang out in our networking spots in the Lucerna Gallery and Lucerna Café. You can use the networking feature in our conference app Eventee — swipe right to match, start chatting with other attendees, and set up a meeting.
You’ll also find common ground at our partner stands with both exhibitors and other participants.
Or enter our competition: Total Eclipse Of The Dart
Want to win some prizes and squeeze in some physical activity at the same time? Come to the Dart Corner! You’ll get 3 chances to try and hit as many points as you can on our special rotating target.
WebExpo Tip: And if none of the above worked? You’ll definitely come out of your shell at one of our WebExpo parties.
Where should I go after talks are over for the day?
The night is still young! Go out for a drink with speakers and WebExpo attendees. But beware — our parties have been known to continue until the next day!
