This talk covers the web and the W3C’s role in shaping the browser landscape. We explore why certain decisions may appear to challenge developers’ expectations, often seeming restrictive rather than supportive of developers’ needs. Yet, we emphasise that the web is fundamentally user-centric, and fostering trust between users and browsers is at the core of W3C’s standardisation efforts. We also discuss how W3C adapts to technological advancements and show how developers can actively contribute to this evolving process. Join us as we uncover the balance between innovation, user experience, and collaboration in shaping the future of the web.
