Session details

Life isn’t all rainbows, unicorns or idealistic LinkedIn success stories. Sometimes things go south. Come to the Discomfort Zone to discuss taboo topics with Riki Fridrich and Radek Vokál.

So let’s zoom in on one of those uncomfortable moments that might hit close to home:

OK, the pandemic sucked, but it gave us remote work — and we’re not giving that up without a fight. No more long commutes to the office, pants are optional…what’s not to love? But what if the bosses are actually right this time? Is working from home slowly wrecking your career? Radek Vokál thinks so. Come join the debate and see if he can convince you to ditch the sweatpants and show up at the office IRL.

Connect with Radek

Radek's extensive career at Red Hat spans multiple roles, from engineer to engineering and team lead. He led a large Red Hat Enterprise Linux development team before transitioning to OpenShift engineering, where he spotted an interesting opportunity to work with product telemetry data and introduced services to improve operational efficiency of the platform. He became a product manager and later picked up the observability product management team, where he now coordinates work across multiple products that benefit from observability features. Radek is also a dedicated community builder, organising the local conference, DevConf.cz, and fostering strong relationships between Red Hat and local universities. He's also a recognised mentor, helping other managers to grow in the company and representing Red Hat at various events.
