Session details

Consumer-driven contract testing is a surprisingly effective way for two teams to stop breaking each other. This is a gentle introduction for anyone who has never written a Pact, starting from the conversation between two services and ending with the confidence to ship without synchronous coordination. In this talk, Robin will show what a contract actually is, where it belongs in a service-based / microservice architecture, and how a small, cheap test buys a remarkable amount of team independence and flexibility.

Robin is a senior staff engineer at Ataccama who thinks architecture is a team sport and treats meetup organising as a competitive discipline. He runs React Berlin and Software Design Berlin, co-founded Frontendisti.cz, and hosts the FrontKec podcast. When coding he likes TypeScript and Kotlin, gets unreasonably excited about ADRs, and somehow always ends up on stage talking about it.
