Your UX research guide to WebExpo 2025

Every year, WebExpo gathers some of the most insightful voices in UX research, and 2025 is no exception. Whether you’re a seasoned researcher, a product manager, a designer, or anyone who relies on understanding users to build better products, this year’s lineup offers something for you. Here are the talks I wouldn’t miss—and hope to see you there!

Both Nikki Anderson and Zsuzsa Kovács (happy to have her back) will help us better understand research methodology. Nikki will lead us to master the art of asking the right questions because the quality of our research is directly related to the quality of our questions. And Zsuzsa will focus on one of my favourite topics which is surveys. What is their place in UX research? Are they quick and easy or dangerous and misused? Come see Zsusza to get the answers. And if you want to learn more about research methodologies and frameworks, another talk I’m excited about is Martina Klimešová’s. A former sceptic turned advocate of Jobs to Be Done (JTBD), she’ll break down both the theory and practical applications of this framework. Even better—she’s following up her talk with a free workshop the next day!

And this is just the beginning. Lorie Whitaker has many years of experience and is an enthusiast in B2B complexities. She is coming to WebExpo this year to talk about the specifics of B2B research with some real-life examples. And on top of it, she will also cover the importance of aligning goals, hypotheses and objectives when planning research (which is as important as asking the right questions).

It’s still not it. Ever heard of Trezor? It’s a crypto security solution. Markéta Kaizlerová is one of their UX Researchers and she is bringing a case study in which she will explain that sometimes you need to find ways to communicate to your customers that they should not use certain features they think they want to use.

Just check out the WebExpo program and filter the Research. You will get Stéphanie Walters to remind us that we should not only design for the happy path but also think about the edge cases from the very beginning of our work. You will also find there Peter Angelov with his talk How the right design process and research drive meaningful innovation, Joe Natoli, Jan Řezáč, Martin Cízler… It’s so many this year. Just don’t forget to network and join the parties! 🎉
